SSDDR

SATA NAND Flash Storage on a DRAM Memory Module

Can Free up System Space

Solid-State Double Data Rate (SSDDR) is an enhanced NAND DIMM with the added functionality of a DRAM DIMM. It combines DDR2 or DDR3 DRAM with SLC or MLC NAND flash on a single memory module as an easy way to reduce system space, cost and latencies over traditional SATA I/II form factors, such as Compact Flash (CF) or 1.8”/2.5” Solid State Storage Disk (SSD). SSDDR has the potential to replace Compact Flash (CF).

 Applications

An SSDDR Flash/DRAM memory module can be designed in many small DIMM form factors as a way to pack more DRAM memory (2GB+) and Flash storage (32GB+) into small space-constrained computer systems such as Single Board Computers (SBCs), ETX, COM Express, ATCA, uTCA or other embedded systems applications.

Densified packaging in Multi Chip Packages (MCP) for Chip on Board (COB) applications will also be available.
