Memory bandwidth is a critical requirement for large-scale networks. High-speed wide-channel memory interfaces provide the throughput for moving information quickly to its destination. Custom communication ASICs often require custom memory solutions to achieve performance specifications within very small footprints.

Case Study

Virtium was asked by a worldwide leader in networking for the Internet to create an alternative memory solution for a single-sourced multi-chip memory device used in conjunction with a high-speed communication ASIC. The customer required a “drop-in” replacement for a router that was already in production.

Virtium collaborated with technology vendors to create a lower-cost solution with less lead-time than the original sole-sourced multi-chip memory device.
