DDR3 vs. DDR2 DRAM MEMORY

Virtium
Migrating to DDR3 DRAM technology from DDR2 will provide the system designer with: 1) faster data rates 2) lower memory power requirements and 3) higher operating temperatures for DRAM memory modules. DDR3 module densities can also be larger if using 4Gb and 8Gb DRAM when they become available. There will be some architectural differences with DDR3 that motherboard designers should become aware of, such as 8 internal DRAM banks, burst chop modes, DRAM reset initialization, programmable DRAM latency and so on. We invite you to learn more about this new DRAM technology.&.    Read More...

Rampedia
RAMpedia is a DRAM memory encyclopedia and memory toolbox that saves you time by providing technical information on motherboards, chipsets, memory modules and DRAM components. It is also an informational website and technical engineering database to enhance your knowledge of DRAM memory technology and to stay informed with current memory industry news.
