RAMpedia is a DRAM memory encyclopedia and memory toolbox that saves you time by providing technical information on motherboards, chipsets, memory modules and DRAM components. It is also an informational website and technical engineering database to enhance your knowledge of DRAM memory technology and to stay informed with current memory industry news.

Weigh Options for Improved Thermal Management of DRAM Memory

Virtium
Improving the thermal management of memory modules can be accomplished in many ways. One method is to choose memory that uses the best overall heat reduction scheme. Another approach is to specify memory modules that use a thermal sensor to control the thermals. Or careful system design can prevent preheated air from passing over the memory subsystem. Likewise, DIMM orientation on the systemboard can prevent trapped heat pockets, or the air gap spacing between DIMMs can improve convection cooling. Memory module design can evenly disperse heat surrounding the DIMM or use extended-temperature DRAM that has been screened for high temperature operation. We invite you to learn more about this important subject, and get an a USB flash drive. Read More...
