Sean Barrette

Sean Barrette is a Partner at L Squared Capital Partners and was actively engaged in the formation of the firm.  Sean has worked closely with the founding members of L Squared Capital Partners as an investment professional at Chicago Growth Partners. Prior to CGP, Sean was an Analyst and Associate at Credit Suisse based out of New York and Singapore.  Sean began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young.  He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BS in Accounting and Economics from Binghamton University.  Sean is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Public Accountant (CPA – inactive).

David Bradford

David Bradford served as an executive, chief operating officer or chairman at high-technology industry leaders such as Novell, HireVue, 3D-View.com and Fusion-io (acquired by SanDisk), a company that revolutionized the corporate data center with its innovative solid memory devices. In 2013, Mr. Bradford was inducted into the Utah Technology Hall of Fame and won the “CEO and Executive-of-the-Year” award of that state. He is currently a professor of entrepreneurship at the University of Utah.

Rob Healy

Rob Healy is a founder and Managing Partner of L Squared Capital Partners.  Prior to founding L Squared, Rob co-founded Chicago Growth Partners, a growth focused private equity fund that invested over $750 million in more than 35 growth companies.  Rob was previously a Managing Director at William Blair Capital Partners,  a General Partner with ClearLight Partners, a Principal at William E. Simon & Sons, and worked in investment banking with Merrill Lynch & Company.  Prior to his investing career, Rob served for nine years as an officer in the United States Army and was decorated for his combat leadership, commanding a Black Hawk Squadron in Operation Just Cause.  Rob graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he quarterbacked the Army Football Team and led them to their 2nd Bowl victory in history.  He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Phu Hoang

Phu Hoang, CEO and Founder, Virtium.  Phu’s management and entrepreneurial background comes from seven years with Vistage International, a leading CEO training organization.  He earned his MBA from Northern Illinois University, has a B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, and holds two U.S. patents. In 2014, Phu won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year award in Orange County, California. And, in 2013, Hoang was selected as a winner of the Orange County Business Journal’s Excellence in Entrepreneurship Awards.  Phu was also honored in 2008 as an EY Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in Orange County, California. Phu is also founder of Savice, a non-profit education foundation established to enable better futures for underprivileged children through educational assistance in rural Vietnam.

Randall Hunt

Randall Hunt is a Partner at L Squared Capital Partners and was actively engaged in the formation of the firm.  Prior to joining L Squared, Randall was a Vice President at Satori Capital, a private equity firm in Dallas, TX.  Prior to Satori, Randall was an Associate at Chicago Growth Partners.  Randall began his career at UBS Investment Bank.  He received an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Tim Leyden

Tim Leyden brings to the Virtium board over 40 years of global financial and operational experience in hardware, software, semiconductor and consumer industries and he has more than 20 years experience in the data storage industry.  Most recently, until his retirement in September 2014, he served as chief financial officer of Western Digital Corp. (WDC), an industry-leading developer and manufacturer of data storage solutions.  Leyden served in various senior roles at WDC, which included the CFO and COO roles, president of the WD subsidiary – in the aftermath of the HGST acquisition – and earlier financial, accounting, manufacturing and information technology leadership positions. He left WDC for an interim period between 2000 and 2007, during which time he served as a consultant principal for PRTM, an operational consulting company, followed by chief financial officer positions for multiple divisions of Sage Software USA, a subsidiary of Sage Software PLC and provider of business management software and services.

Chinh Nguyen

Chinh Nguyen, CTO and Founder, Virtium Chinh’s background includes five years with Vistage International, a leading CEO training organization. Chinh earned his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California, and is an inventor – holding several U.S. patents.  Chinh is also an active member of industry standards group JEDEC, and contributes leadership and expertise in developing new embedded industry standards and form factors. As director of Savice, a non-profit education foundation, Chinh is devoted to helping underprivileged children improve their lives with greater access to educational resources in rural Vietnam.
